Real Belgian police never conduct on-street wallet inspections and will always show verifiable ID at a police station. Refuse any on-street wallet or passport check. Ask to be taken to a police station, or step into a nearby shop and call 101 (Belgian police emergency). Never hand over your wallet or passport.
