Dozens of websites posing as licensed Giza pyramid tour operators collect payment for guided tours, private transfers, and entry tickets that are either never fulfilled or drastically different from what was advertised. Some sites clone the branding of legitimate operators. Travelers arriving at the Giza plateau often discover their "guide" doesn't exist or demand additional cash on the spot.
How it works
Scammers operate fake Egyptian tour company accounts on Instagram and Facebook, advertising heavily discounted Nile cruises, sound-and-light show tickets, and Cairo city tours. After payment via mobile transfer they go silent, or a person shows up who cannot actually deliver the service. Complaints are met with blocked accounts.
