How it works

ATV rental operators along the Göreme–Çavuşin road rent quad bikes with pre-existing scratches and mechanical faults that are not documented at the time of rental. Upon return, operators claim the tourist caused the damage and demand cash payments of ₺1,000–5,000 before releasing held passports or credit card pre-authorizations. Some operators have accomplices stationed on the route who report minor off-road incidents back to the shop.
