Fake online booking and WhatsApp tour scams

Travelers booking last-minute Rabat day tours, riads, or airport transfers have been hit by fraudulent booking pages and WhatsApp-based 'agencies' that take a deposit and then vanish or deliver nothing as described. Because Rabat has fewer big-brand operators than Marrakech, visitors often book through informal contacts and social media, which is where the fraud concentrates. Fake QR codes and bogus payment links have also been reported in Morocco.
