Kayak, paddleboard, and bike rental operators near River Landing and along the Meewasin Valley Trail sometimes quote a base rental price and then add mandatory insurance, safety equipment, or damage deposit fees at the point of payment that were not mentioned in the initial quote. Visitors renting for a short session expecting to pay the advertised rate find their total doubled by the time they reach the cashier. These fees are sometimes non-refundable even if equipment is returned early.
