Valladolid is surrounded by accessible cenotes including Cenote Zaci in town and the popular Cenote Samula and Cenote Xkeken near Dzitnup. Unofficial ticket sellers position themselves on the road approaches to these cenotes and at Calzada de los Frailes, offering pre-purchased entry tickets at inflated prices or collecting fees for non-existent express entry lanes. Tickets may be counterfeit and are sometimes refused at the actual entrance.
