Fake Polish Zloty Currency Swap

Street money changers operating near the Old Town Market Square offer to exchange euros or US dollars for Polish zloty at seemingly favourable rates. The exchange is completed using a sleight-of-hand trick that substitutes old worthless banknotes, short-counts the stack, or slips in foreign currency that looks similar to PLN. Some operate from kiosks with official-looking signage but no central bank authorisation.
