Homestay Bait-and-Switch

Some Da Lat homestays and guesthouses on booking platforms show photos of well-furnished premium rooms to attract bookings, then assign guests to a different, substantially inferior room upon arrival, claiming the booked room is unavailable due to maintenance or a double-booking. The substitute room may lack the private bathroom, view, or amenities shown in the listing photos. This practice is most common for bookings made through Vietnamese-language platforms or with operators who have few English-language reviews.
