Around the Römerberg old town square and the adjacent Dom-Römer quarter, individuals offer private guided tours of Frankfurt's historic center including the Kaisersaal and the old town for €15–25 per person. These tours cover only public streets and exteriors that are entirely free to visit independently. The guides have no official certification and often provide historically inaccurate commentary.
