How it works

When arriving at Istanbul Atatürk or Sabiha Gökçen airport, or after being picked up from a bus station, the taxi driver claims your booked hotel is temporarily closed due to a fire, inspection, or bed bug problem. He then offers to take you to a "better" alternative hotel where he earns a substantial commission. The alternative hotel is typically overpriced and of lower quality than your original booking.
