Some restaurants and bars along Kampot's riverside strip add items to bills that were never ordered — extra drinks, side dishes, or service charges not disclosed upfront. This is particularly common at outdoor riverside venues catering primarily to tourists, where menus may lack printed prices for daily specials or the bill is presented quickly as staff signal for payment. In some cases, a tourist-facing price list is shown on approach while a higher price is charged at the end.
