Some hotels and aparthotel complexes in Na'ama Bay and Shark's Bay accept bookings for sea-view or superior rooms on international booking platforms, then allocate pool-view or garden-view rooms on arrival, claiming the advertised category is unavailable. Staff offer upgrades to the originally booked category at an additional nightly charge. The practice is most common during peak school holiday periods.
