Photography and Filming Permission Fee Demands

Individuals — sometimes claiming to represent local Bedouin landowners or protected area wardens — approach photographers and videographers inside Wadi Rum and demand informal "photography fees" for shooting at specific rock formations, canyon sites, or near Bedouin tents. The fees are not official and have no legal basis; legitimate photography inside the protected area is covered by the entrance fee.
