Fake Airbnb and Short-Term Rental Fraud

Yerevan has seen rapid growth in short-term rental listings as tourism increased post-2020, and fraudulent listings have followed. Scammers post attractive apartment photos near Republic Square at below-market rates and redirect inquirers to pay via bank transfer or cryptocurrency, claiming to avoid platform fees. Properties do not exist or owners have no knowledge the listing exists.
