Fake Airbnb and Short-Let Apartment Listing

Fraudulent apartment listings in Accra's Cantonments, Labone, and East Legon neighbourhoods appear on Airbnb and local rental platforms using photos of properties that are either unavailable or non-existent at the stated address. After payment, hosts delay check-in with excuses until the chargeback window has passed, or the address leads to an entirely different building. Some operate via WhatsApp, asking for deposits directly to bypass platform protections.
