Some budget guesthouses near the bus terminal and in the downtown core advertise proximity to the tourist zone or cayes water taxi as a selling point, but are located in neighbourhoods where street crime risk is meaningfully higher than in the Fort Street or Barracks Road area. Check-in staff may be evasive about the walking safety of the area after dark.
