Dragon boat operators on the Perfume River near Toa Kham Pier employ assistants who photograph tourists during or after a boat ride, then present a demand of 200,000–500,000 VND per photo for a printout or digital file the tourist never requested. Refusal is met with aggressive persistence, and some operators block the gangway until payment is made. This practice also occurs near Thien Mu Pagoda boat landings.
