Travelers arriving at Hurghada International Airport or at hotels along Sheraton Road and the El Dahar strip are told their booked room is "unavailable" and offered an "equivalent" alternative at a higher price, or in a property that is significantly lower quality than advertised. Some operators running this scheme have booking.com or Tripadvisor listings with manipulated photos showing nicer neighboring resorts.
