Fraudulent rental listings for pousadas and holiday villas in Arraial dAjuda, Trancoso, and Porto Seguro town appear on social media and informal booking channels at below-market prices. After the tourist transfers a deposit — often via Pix bank transfer — the listing disappears or the host claims the reservation was cancelled. Victims arrive to find either no property or an entirely different, inferior one.
