Shared songthaews (pickup trucks) on Koh Chang operate without meters and fares between beaches are often quoted at three to four times the going rate for tourists. Private taxis are even more expensive and drivers rarely negotiate once luggage is loaded. The island has no Grab or ride-hailing service.
