Guesthouse Hidden Fee Overcharge

Some guesthouses and budget hotels in the Hongdae and Myeongdong tourist corridors add undisclosed fees at checkout — for Wi-Fi, linen, or "tourist tax" — that were not mentioned during booking. The charges are typically small (5,000–20,000 KRW) but appear on the bill after you have already stayed. In extreme cases the booking price shown online differs from what the property demands at check-in.
