Tourist Restaurant Overcharging

Some restaurants near the Museo Nacional, along Paseo Colón, and in the tourist-facing blocks of Barrio Amón present menus without prices, quote verbal specials with hidden costs, or add undisclosed service charges and "tourist fees" to bills. A common variant involves presenting a bill that includes items not ordered or quantities different from what was consumed. The overcharge is usually modest enough that tourists do not argue, especially if they are uncertain of local pricing.
